Advertising Techniques 3 - Exaggeration

Many adverts use exaggeration in their advert. They can be exaggerating by making the product on the advert look bigger than it actually is or saying it is better than it is, which is the most common thing that happens on adverts. They're obviously trying to persuade people to buy the product they are advertising so they're basically saying it's the best thing you could buy and will make your life better, etc. When you exaggerate your product, you can do it in many ways. You could compare it with the same product but by a different brand or even make the exaggeration funny. You want to do everything you can to grab the audiences attention.

An advert that uses exaggeration is Cheez It Cheese. In this advert, it's a speaking cheese, then the man on the advert explains to the audience how they mature their cheese before selling it to the audience. It's supposed to be funny and saying that their cheese is really good quality.
