Advertising Techniques 2 - Personification

Personification is used to grab peoples attention straight away. It's not realistic at all but it can be extremely humouros and as an advert with personification usually uses humour then the it can be shown anytime really as everybody will find it funny. Personification can also sometimes take the mick out of other adverts or they can just do it so it's a bit different and not like all the other adverts.

An advert I have found which uses personification is the Lactose Free Milk advert from 2010.

In this advert the milk has a voice and is on a doorstep telling the woman that she is now ok to drink milk as it's not lactose free milk. This advert is basically saying it now caters for people who can't have milk if they're lactose intolernt but now they can, they can have lacto free milk. This advert has a clear message but is quite interesting at the same time. Personally I didn't lose interest while watching this advert.
